Civicom Marketing Research Services Associate Account Manager and Feathers Project Advocate Charlotte Thompson was a speaker and mentor for the first-ever ‘Peers and Students Taking Action’ (PASTA) Leadership Summit on October 14th in Ashburn, Virginia, located just outside of Washington DC. Thompson gave an inspirational talk on Personal Branding and explained how her passions, values, and strengths play a big role in her advocacy for Civicom Marketing Research Services and the Feathers Project Charity.
PASTA is one of the largest student-run non-profit organizations in metro Washington DC. The organization is committed to helping the community by providing meaningful volunteer opportunities where members learn how to run volunteer programs, research the needs of their peers, and take action to fill the needs of various community groups. PASTA’s first-ever leadership summit, themed “Live Out Your Brand,” delved into the crucial role of personal branding in paving the way towards a successful collegiate and career pathway for today’s emerging young leaders.
Charlotte Thompson is an up-and-coming influencer and brand advocate for Civicom Marketing Research Services, as well as Feathers Project. She was among the invited speakers who shared their personal branding experience to over 100 PASTA members in attendance. Thompson has been building her personal brand ‘Charlotte From Chicago’ as a social media influencer on travel and motivational speaking throughout her collegiate experience and continues in this role as a business professional.

About Peers and Students Taking Action (PASTA)
PASTA is a 501(c)(3) that addresses the many issues that young individuals in the community face by giving youth of all ages meaningful volunteer opportunities that they are passionate about. The organization is completely student-run and currently has 12 chapters throughout Loudoun County, Virginia. PASTA has over 80 committed members, over 12 partners, and has completed hundreds of truly meaningful, impactful, volunteer projects.
PASTA offers many enviable programs for community support. Two include the ‘Nothing’s ImPASTAble’ program, where PASTA provides free tutoring/mentoring where they match 3rd-6th graders with a high school tutor. All tutors have been approved, trained, and equipped with a tutoring success kit. PASTA also offers ‘Families in Crisis,’ where the main focus is on providing free mentorship, tutoring, babysitting, friendship programs, requested items, or tribute programs. Through Families in Crisis, support has been provided for house fires, childhood illnesses, parent illness support for kids, loss of family members, and impending homelessness.
Any student, parent, or partner interested in starting a PASTA chapter, can take the first step of finding 4-8 students who want to join in creating a group.
